Scenes: The One Moment a Donor Remembers with Chris Davenport

A donor has to care before they give. Story is how you get them there, but story alone isn't the whole answer.

Buried inside every good story is one small moment that does the real work. A specific, human moment where a donor stops scanning and starts feeling. That's the Scene, and it's the part they carry away long after the campaign is over.

Most fundraisers have never been taught to see it. In this session, we'll look at what a Scene actually is, why it makes a donor care when statistics and program descriptions can't, and where to find the ones already sitting in your case notes, your old reports, and the hallway conversations you walk past every day.

Come find out what your stories have been missing, and why the smallest moment might be the most important one you tell.
